IGOR, Lifelong Learning Centre in Nature, is also a place for internships for undergraduate, graduate and integrated university students from various faculties. The concluded Cooperation Agreements confirm the need and willingness to work together to improve the quality of scientific, educational and professional work that is realized in the form of internships in university study programs.
During their internships, students will have the opportunity to engage with the traditional cultural and natural landscape of Marindvor, including a meteorological station situated on our ecological permaculture estate spanning approximately 10 hectares. They will have the chance to inventory and map routes for geocaching and orienteering, analyze the estate's and village's tourism attractions, and explore the Golden Valley as a natural and cultural entity. Additionally, students will research authentic agricultural products of the Golden Valley, natural beauties like Papuk Nature Park, immovable and intangible cultural heritage and traditional skills, integrating them into a unique offering involving various family farms, traditional crafts, and other tourism-related entities.
The AKORD holiday house in Marindvor features a spacious living room with dining area and equipped kitchen, 10 beds across multiple rooms, an educational workshop hall accommodating 30 participants equipped with necessary educational tools (projector, laptop, Wi-Fi, air conditioning), a Finnish sauna, and massage tables. The house is surrounded by a large green yard; the forested part of the estate includes outdoor classrooms, a hearth, a stage, and nearby meadows, a stream, and Sovinjak Lake.
Students will have the opportunity to design new, authentic offerings related to the aforementioned aspects and explore potentials for developing specific forms of rural tourism, such as educational tourism, wellness tourism, sports and recreational tourism, and family bonding programs.
